Make sure you have a roll of scotch tape when you are applying the screen protectors. Roll the scotch tape inside out and place over your finger. It works great for removing lint particles you find after applying the protector. On another subject, there is a new app for the ipad called SkyFire. It converts adobe flash video to the apple html5 format. Works great for watching movies or videos. Airplane is still in paint. Happy Holidays!!! It does have some glitches sometimes, but it works most of the time, especially for websites that are all flash. Lenny greghale wrote: > I bought my screen protector at Brookstone. We built the hard points and installed the mounting screws from inside the cabin so as to make repairs possible without affecting the exterior paint. I can get pics if anyone requests off-list. I don't yet have my eyelets and the plans don't say how large to make the holes. Can somebody tell me how large to drill them? Next, at what point do I need to start looking into mounting my pitot. I have a Gretz heated pitot. Does this need done before I rivet the outboard leading edges to the main wing spars? Where (which bay) is the best location for the pitot (just do as the plans show or does anybody have any real world advice and possibly a solution that works better)? Sorry for the elementary questions but just feel like I may be leaving something out. From: Phillip Perry Tom you're always welcome to stop by and take a look at my project. I'm in the middle of fiberglass doors right now. :( Phil On Tue, Dec 21, 2010 at 2:26 PM, Tom Biggs wrote: > > Houston gets another 10 builder!! As for the pitot, I have a Gretz too and mounted it basically in the same place as called out in the plans, except a little further aft. As a result, I mounted mine when I riveted on the bottom skins: mounting the leading edge was not a factor. -------- Todd Stovall 728TT (reserved) RV-10 Empacone, Wings, Fuse Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=324266#324266 ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 01:27:24 PM PST US From: "John MacCallum" Subject: RE: RV10-List: Couple more wing leading edge questions >From Step 6 on Page 10-15 it shows drilling the hole for the Tail cone tie down to 11/16". This would provide 5/32 of clearance all around the Hole. That may bit a bit large for the wing skins, so you may like to make the hole 5/8 or less. I intend to mount a Greta Heated Pitot in the same place as the Plans show. You need to be able to reach the tube connector and wiring for maintenance and repairs. I recommend you check your Gretz pitot for leaks before installing it. Ask me how I know. Easy to access without wing tip on. I have a .063" doubler with joggle going over spar flange. Be aware that the high temperature plastic has melted on several due to board failures. -------- Wayne Gillispie, A&P 5/93, PPC 10/08 Bldr# 40983 SB Fuselage 9/21/10- Sec 32 Tailcone Attach Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=324296#324296 ________________________________ Message 10 ____________________________________ Time: 06:18:38 PM PST US Subject: RV10-List: Re: Empennage Ordered!! From: "rv10flyer" Tim's site is very helpful. I refer to it often. Thanks Tim. You will find out that the "gotchas" list needs some updating. When I finish building I will go back through my plans and post a list. Until then if you have any doubt and cannot find an answer through a short search, get on here or VAF and ask. I made notes all through the plans just in case someone ask about a specific step. I had alot of help from a local -10 builder that found many "gotchas" before me...Thanks Ted. Tools I recommend if within your budget but not required...I have used the pneumatic squeezer on approx 25% of the riveting and dimpling. Makes for a quicker build, quieter, great for nutplates(w/o using clecos), no need for three hands to hold pieces like standared riveting. The backriveting bucking bar so that your thin skins will not get dimpled so bad while riveting. The #8 and #10 nutplate jigs. The small pop riveter for tight places. Tank dimple dies. Have fun building! -------- Wayne Gillispie, A&P 5/93, PPC 10/08 Bldr# 40983 SB Fuselage 9/21/10- Sec 32 Tailcone Attach Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=324299#324299 ________________________________ Message 11 ____________________________________ Time: 06:49:01 PM PST US From: Patrick Pulis Subject: RV10-List: Les Kearney's Email Address Les if you're out there mate (or if someone knows Les's address) could you =0Aplease email me off-line please?=0A=0AMerry Christmas & Happy New Year t o all the RV-10 family from a warm +34C =0AAdelaide, South Australia.=0A=0A Regards=0A=0APat=0A=0A=0A=0A ________________________________ Message 12 ____________________________________ Time: 07:01:22 PM PST US From: Kelly McMullen Subject: Re: RV10-List: Les Kearney's Email Address "Les Kearney" On 12/23/2010 7:45 PM, Patrick Pulis wrote: > Les if you're out there mate (or if someone knows Les's address) could > you please email me off-line please? > Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all the RV-10 family from a warm > +34C Adelaide, South Australia. > Regards > Pat > > * > > * ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message rv10-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/RV10-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/rv10-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/rv10-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
