Yes, I just replaced about 95% of the tubing in the tunnel. I even replaced
the tubing going to the tanks. Another RV-10 builder, Dana Saucier, also
did the same. Both of us worked with Tom Swearengen at tsflightlines.com.
Photos are on mykitlog.com. Tom is getting ready to take the plunge and
start building a RV-7.

It took several iterations to get things correct, due to my inability to
accurately measure and not completely thinking through a couple issues.
With that said, several things were learned. There is no such thing as a
standard RV-10 installation. Since Van's has change the location of several
items in the tunnel (i.e. fuel valve), type of fule valve (Van's or Andair)
and did the builder construct per plans (i.e. the fuel valve mount in the
correct orientation).
The lines going to the tanks and brakes if you remove the fittings will have
a turn radius issue if you attempt to make a tight right angle turn. They
do fit quite nicely to turn and run along the opposite tunnel wall, so you
may need to think about routing before you order. There were several
connections that a 90 degree on the end of the hose solved some of the
radius turn issue.
Tom even fabricated some of the really short pieces with stainless.
Some of my brake lines are Bonaco. There is no comparison is working with
Brent at Bonaco or Tom at TS Flightlines. My experience was that Brent
didn't respond to email and was hard to reach even if you called. It seemed
that I always called when he was busy working in the shop. Tom has always
responded to emails, regardless of when they were sent. I've had him call
me a couple times late in the evening or one the weekend to follow up on
email. Tom just provides outstanding support.
If you are going to replace your lines, then I would give him a call. A 5
minute call to understand what he needs for measurements and what he's
learned from fitting other RV-10s will save you frustration down the road.

That's why I wondered too....I couldn't remember if mine came with the
engine or from Van's, but it had fire sleeve, so I was curious as to how
yours didn't. I have some photos though and it looks like it came with the
engine from Aerosport, so that's how I got it.
Has anyone replaced the fuel line in the tunnel from fuel pump to firewall
with teflon yet? I'm about to start tearing open that area again and I
think if teflon will do the curves right I would like to do flex there too.
I still have the poor quality aluminum tube there now.
I bought some of the better stuff too, so in a pinch I could remake it.

Rene,
As an AME, ocular hypertension is a condition the AME cannot approve(the
initial time) It requires your ophthalmologist to fill out FA form 8500-14
and visual field testing. Your AME can get the approval through Oklahoma
City or the regional flight surgeon(I don't know which state you live in)
but I prefer to go through the regional flight surgeon rather than Oklahoma.
It is usually much quicker.

Subject: RV10-List: Medical
Got my first old age scare this past year....one year ago I was told I had
ocular hypertension.....high pressure in the eye. I looked it up on the FAA
site and found out that although my eye doctor said I had no problems, that
my flight surgeon would not be able to sign my medical. Trying to be
proactive I got my eye doctor the form the FAA said they needed and well
before my medical expired, I got a fresh eye exam with all the special test
I needed and then did my flight physical...due to scheduling problems that
was done right after Christmas. My flight surgeon proceeded to defer my
medical to the FAA and sent in all the paperwork. Since my old medical
expired 31 Jan 12, I started calling the last week of Jan. They were very
pleasant, but all they would tell me was that they had the paperwork and
they would get to it when they got to it. Long story short, they got to it
and I receive a new medical 10 Feb.
Although I thought there was no problem......it really hit me hard when it
got to a point where I could not fly.
Caution....the FAA can be slow....

Looks like a very well made tank. Are they using .050 aluminum or thicker? Also
does it contain any baffles.
I was thinking that a gravity feed might be a good way to go. Obviously it has
a risk of leakage and fire which is a big deal, but for occasional use and simplicity
it cannot be beat. Turn a spigot and it empties into the main tank by
gravity. Have a stopcock at the tank and next to the pilot.
Also how big does a tank need to be to need baffles inside. I figure with a partial
tank in turbulence that the sloshing could induce some uncomfortable motion.
Just wondering.

The tank structure is honeycomb sheet. It pins together on the sides and
breaks down to flat sheets for storage. The bladder is supported inside
the tank by heavy duty cords, which is pretty standard.
I don't know if there are baffles inside the bladder. The volume is pretty
compact so I don't think sloshing would be much of an issue even without
any baffles.
I'd put a small Facet-type transfer pump that still allows gravity feed and
T it into one of the mains with the valves you mentioned.

I am a little late to this thread; I assume you are referring to the good
hard lines made from 6061T6? We used Teflon line from fuselage to brakes and
6061T6 lines and bulkhead fittings for brake and internal fuselage hard
lines. No leaks 540TT.

I will echo Tim's comments. I have no experience with the others, but
have been very happy with the Gretz. Installation was straight forward.
