Subject: | White House user fee petition |
I've signed the petition but being the cynic that I am of the current
occupants of the White House, I kept wondering if this is a ploy to be
able to get a list of who belongs to which groups! I guess if we start
receiving emails from them I'll have my answer.

This isn't a survey by the Whitehouse....it's a petition forced on the White
house by Aviators. I'm sure they would rather not have it.
You very likely WILL get an email from them arguing their point, but that's a
bout it. I'm proud to be on any list arguing against stupid user fees that a
re best handled with fuel tax.

That petition only got 8904 signatures. That is short of the 25000
needed for this petition. However I recall that only 5000 signatures
were needed to have a petition considered. Have they raised the bar or
have I lowered my recall?

Added one more vote.
Progress again after about a year of waffling whether to sell.
Mazda 20B installed, exhaust mfld done, intake mfld need final welding next week,
then design oil cooler mount and make hoses for oil & water cooling. Only
6 more months, IF I keep my nose to the grindstone !!

Some of the features that are unique to the rv-10 that might be worth watching;
unique cowling cooling outlets
left rear seat gull wing door, certainly gives some loading advantages
aerodynamic wing tip
t-tail
ballistic parachute
claimed 1000nm range
12% faster cruise with 210 hp 4 cylinder
probably designed around the IO390
similarities
the gull wings are very similar to rv-10 that I suspect will have the same problems/challenges.
surprising load very similar to rv-10
of course all of these are assertions, but impressive if proven true
should offer a competitive alternative to the high end SR22 and Corvalis market,
not quite as fast, but 40% less fuel burn should make it very attractive
offering a kit should hit into the rv-10 market a bit too, pricey, but the quick
build will probably be pretty quick with composite parts.
