Hi Chris,
That is exactly like what I was thinking, but maybe with a way to integrate a cup
holder.... I would love more pictures, especially of the top part. Feel free
to send them off list if you wish. Thank you!

same as panel) riveted together with angles on the inside. It also has headset
jacks in the front and a power outlet in the back. Not pictured is the armrest
pad on top. I did not ever cover it in carpet or cloth I left the sides polished
aluminum. There are angles on the bottom which 4 bolts go through to nutplates
on the tunnel cover. To remove the console I just reach inside it and remove
the 4 bolts. Since headset jack wiring is inside I have a CPC to disconnect
that wiring and the power outlet. More photos upon request.

make something retrofittable to my flying aircraft. Thinking it will screw into
the tunnel cover between the seats and be carpeted on the sides to match. A
cup holder or two would be nice. Of course it would double as an arm rest and
storage.

I've been waiting two weeks for a response from Van's. Ken Scott
acknowledged my request and said they would have to "research" it.
I've not seen this as an issue on other builder's sites. Any one else
have this problem. I know it is minor, and I can fix it, but would
rather have the parts supplied by Vans actually fit without significant
modification.

Gentlemen,
RV-10 Plans, Engine Baffling page FF2-4 and 5. When I placed the oil
cooler brace on CB-1005A I found that this item was larger than shown in
the plans, and stands 1/4" above the CB-1006A flange. The flange between
the CB-1005A and CB-1006A baffles is 1+5/16" high while the CB-1005B
brace is 1+7/16" tall. This means it is not possible to align the two,
and there is insufficient edge distance to drill for rivets to secure
the oil cooler brace on that edge. I have checked with a couple other
builders that did not seem to have this issue.
So it appears that either the CB-1005A or CB-1005B is not correctly
made. Pictures attached.
Please advise.
Thank you,

Hey Kelly,
I don=99t remember this particular problem, but it reminds me that
it is a good idea to fit the baffles to the upper cowl first, THEN fit
the oil cooler =93 I think this is more of an issue on the
RV-8=99s.
Later, =93 Lew

Thanks Lew. These pieces get trimmed off once they are assembled together.
The main problem as manufactured there is insufficient edge distance to
drill for the rivets to hold it together.
