Michael you might be interested in this I have a aluminum center armrest console which is just like the Carbon fiber ones Aerosport Sells. This was a prototype I only made one. I need to sell it and it would make a great addition For anyone looking for a center armrest. It comes with the interior bucket as well. Cost is $300.00 includes ground shipping anywhere here in the Continental US. I would love more pictures, especially of the top part. Feel free to send them off list if you wish. Thank you! -Mike Kraus Do not archive Sent from my iPhone On Oct 13, 2012, at 9:44 AM, Chris wrote: > Mike, > I will let you determine if what I did is nice. It is .060 aluminum (i think, same as panel) riveted together with angles on the inside. It also has headset jacks in the front and a power outlet in the back. Not pictured is the armrest pad on top. I did not ever cover it in carpet or cloth I left the sides polished aluminum. There are angles on the bottom which 4 bolts go through to nutplates on the tunnel cover. To remove the console I just reach inside it and remove the 4 bolts. Since headset jack wiring is inside I have a CPC to disconnect that wiring and the power outlet. More photos upon request. > -Chris Lucas > N919AR > > > > > Subject: RV10-List: Home made center console? > > --> > > Has anyone made a nice home made center console out of aluminum? I want to make something retrofittable to my flying aircraft. Thinking it will screw into the tunnel cover between the seats and be carpeted on the sides to match. A cup holder or two would be nice. Of course it would double as an arm rest and storage. > > -Mike Kraus > RV-10 flying > > > Sent from my iPhone > > > > > > ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:29:38 AM PST US Subject: RV10-List: Invest in a SPOT? From: Phillip Perry I have the ACK E-04 and it has a push button on the panel to activate the ELT. I'll still carry a SPOT though. It's especially useful for water landings (when you drift away) or when you might need to hike out. Some of the newer variants of SPOT allow for you to connect your cell phone via Bluetooth to send 2-way messages to people on the ground. That's a nice feature to have when you're running late and the family in on the ground worrying about your welfare.
