He's not the first and likely won't be the last! :) Not that I'd recommend it at all, but as good ole' Bob Hoover has shown, a nicely executed roll is just about exactly 1G through the entire thing...even if you are pouring a cup of tea whilst doing it in an airplane not designed for it. I believe Tex Johnson also caught a bit of flak for doing the same thing in a 707!
