Sean/Dave, thx for the info. I'm heading to Aircraft Spruce today and will
take the straight fitting with me and see if they will exchange it. For
the record, I did not buy Vans engine hoses, so the custom hose option is
still open.

I called them. They don't have any product that will work but they did steer me
towards a static cling product that might.
I'm just at the exploratory stage right now and don't need it for months, but I
will report back.
