My YIO-540 came from Lycoming with an angled port in that same position and there
was no documentation of what to put there in the plans. After much discussion
with Lycoming and Vans it was decided it was an incorrect part that should
be a flat hexagonal plug with no port, and Vans sent me a replacement part to
put there. My oil temp probe went further back, in front of the oil filter.
