It is called to be used for the Instrument Panel Support Angle, both inboard and outboard, as described in Figure 1 on page 41-5. I have looked around and cannot find anyone who has it smaller than .063. I would really appreciate any leads. I am trying to use the angle between the F1044 and the panel, but there doesn't seem to be the room for it. I spoke with Ken at Van's yesterday about notching out the part that would contact the aft portion of the F1044, the short surface with the nut plate, but he did not agree that notching it out would be a viable idea. That might work for the space between the F1044 and the panel surface. I had no choice but to rebuild the rib because of interference with the panel. I went ahead and reenforced the webbing of the rib with .063. Then I added a piece of 3/4 angle to rebuild the flange that I removed. I'm confident that is stronger than the original design and I don't think it will collapse over time, but only time will tell. If I had photos I'd share them, but the plane is in the hangar (3.5 hours away) and I'm in the recliner. :) Phil On Wed, Jun 18, 2014 at 9:32 PM, Ed Godfrey wrote: > Bob, > Thanks for the info.
