Subject: | battery on the firewall |
Any battery in the engine compartment needs insulation. There is an
aluminum/foam material to line the sides/bottom of your battery box. Temps
under the cowl get mighty warm after shutdown; if practical oil door should
remain open to vent some of the heat.

Cool, I have to go the following week, please post your experience. Last
time I flew in (couple years ago) I recall there was cheaper fuel at a
couple of the smaller airports.

There are several RV-10s in the Phoenix area. 4 flying at FFZ. 1 at DVT.
My engine came from Visalia, and my project is nearing completion at
CHD. There are a number of 2 place RVs at CHD, and 3 projects RV-10s,
mine being the closest to completion. A friend is doing an RV-12 with
airframe getting fairly complete.
However, I expect most will be preparing to leave for OSH or on their
way that week.
