    Subject: GRT HX and GNS430W
          
      I was wondering if anyone out there with the subject panel combo see the
      result of the self check at start up of the 430 on the Hx screen. The 430
      checks  lists:
      
      
      LCDI=Half Left
      
      LFLG=Out of View
      
      VCDI=-Half Up
      
      VFLG=Out of View
      
      To/From=135
      
      
      I seem to have all the parameters as indicated but I do not see the VCDI
      half up. When I have gone out and loaded in a GPS approach on the 430 I do
      get both needles and it seems to be tracking ok. (I do not fly IFR...yet.
      Still working toward that)
      
      
      Why wouldn't I see the VCDI half up??

      Mine did the same thing. Noting at the startup screen.  I no longer have the
      m in the plane but recall it had to do with wiring and corresponding setup. 
      
      
      I flew IFR routinely with the units as setup.
