Slick 6393 Retard Breaker mag with 534 hrs. since new; at 493 hrs. the 500 hr. inspection detailed in the Unison L-1363B Overhaul Manual was completed and new primary contact points, retard breaker contact points, cam and carbon brush and spring were replaced. The mag was modified with a 3/16" hole in the body for the G3I electronic ignition and now has a bolt in the hole; it does not effect normal operation. I can include a yellow tag if requested. No core is required. New $1100 Sell for $325 Mag drive p/n 73000 New $160 Sell for $55 blmarzaa(at)gamil.com Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=452439#452439

Les, I did the gear leg stiffners which helped but didnt eliminate it. Uve filmed with a go pro the landings and dont see much so i think it might help to balance the wheels. My annual is coming up in June. I looked at the web site. Not sure what I should be ordering Alan N668G > On Jan 29, 2016, at 10:52 PM, kearney <kearney@shaw.ca> wrote: > > > Hi > > In May there was a thread on wheel balancing. I was interested as I was getting a bit of shimmy on my landing roll out. Based on Tim Olson's recommendation, I got a Marc Parnes balancer. In December I pulled the wheels and balanced them. I was surprised at how many weights I had to use to balance the mains and nose wheel. > > Then end result is the shimmy is gone. It could be that my landings are just that good but I rather suspect it was the result of the wheel balancing. > > Cheers > > Les > > > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=452432#452432 > > > > > > > > > >

Alan I got the DU42-Ducati Motorcycle Wheel Balancer plus 2 60 gram weight strips. It worked like a charm on all three wheels - I balanced them all. Cheers Les Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=452443#452443

I have AFS in my rv10 and a carbon cub. Have evolved with afs from 3500 to 5600. They have been well ahead of the industry continuing enhancements for the last six yrs I have been a user. They offer not only an excellent product supported by a deep bench with the ownership by Dynon, but a commitment to the customer that is hard to beat. I have emailed Rob many times on weekends etc and get immediate answers. His team in his office are excellent. I certainly endorse Rob's comments in this thread Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=452447#452447

    I've never balanced aircraft wheels before, however can you take them to a tyre store for them to balance? How do the aircraft maintenance facilities balance their wheels? Warm regards Patrick > On 31 Jan 2016, at 03:39, kearney <kearney@shaw.ca> wrote: > > > Alan > > I got the DU42-Ducati Motorcycle Wheel Balancer plus 2 60 gram weight strips. > > It worked like a charm on all three wheels - I balanced them all. > > Cheers > > Les > > > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=452443#452443 > > > > > > > > > >

I purchased this balancer and it was very happy. There was also some description of the process in the kit. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/topages/tirebalance.php I found that the markings (Dot's on the tires) that indicate the heaviest vs lightest parts of the tire were completely wrong on my tires. If I had followed the plans, it would have taken absurd amount of weight to balance out the other side. Now they're perfectly balanced. After finding out that the markings on the tire were unreliable, I'm glad I spent the extra money on a balancing kit.
