Subject: | Re: camping in the 10 |
The State of Idaho has made a sustained effort over decades to maintain backcountry
airstrips for air tourists, campers, hunters, etc. See this website for
details of them : https://idahoaviation.com/idahoAirstripNetwork.php
Many of the airstrips are suitable for an RV-10. One of my favorites is Johnson
Creek with a developed campground, firewood and flush toilets. The turf landing
is irrigated and mown. I took a Twin Comanche into it with no problems.
Still, this is mountain flying. If you have no experience, stop by McCall Aviation
for instruction first. They specialize in teaching flatlanders.
