Hi

I have another antenna follow up question.  If I install a Company bent whip antenna,
is there any reason I can't use it for two comm radios through the use
of a splitter?

Yes. There is no reliable way to isolate the transmitter on one com from 
the receiver on the other com, creating a likely hazard of frying the 
receiver on one while transmitting on the other.
Just install 2 bent whip antennas, installed as far apart as you can 
conveniently get them.
