Subject: Slow Build Fuse Construction Question
I have a question for you guys that put together a -10 slow-built fuselage. Ill do my best to explain my question. Im about to mate the mid and forward sections of the fuselage. Beyond bolting the two spar bulkheads together using the supplied spacers the mating requires riveting the two bottom skins together and to the front and rear spar bulkhead flanges. The mated pieces are now quite long. How did you guys orient the entire structure in order to access the manufactured head of the #3 bottom skin rivets? My spouse usually runs the gun and Im not sure placing the fuse between two work benches and having her work upside down is a good choice. The other option Im thinking about is placing the structure on the firewall and clamping it to a work bench so we can access vertically. Any recommendations based on your experiences? Thanks Rick McBride
