From: "bill.peyton" I attached a photo of the sender unit. The wire that goes to the potentiometer is attached to the body, not the other end of the nutsert. I would suspect that at best, you may notice a leak. I would think it would be extremely difficult to rotate the entire internal sending unit assembly without noticing or hearing it. More that likely you just rotated the nutsert. As to removing the screw, I suspect that you may have to pull the sending unit. If you do that, I suggest you replace it after doing all the work to remove it, and the chance that it may leak round the nutsert. -------- Bill WA0SYV Aviation Partners, LLC Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=496880#496880 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/img_1529_537.jpg ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 09:33:10 AM PST US From: Kelly McMullen Subject: Re: RV10-List: Re: Busted fuel sender? Just a thought....not sure whether one can remove the sending unit with the wing in its attached position. Did all my manipulating of the sending units prior to installing wings. Of course, I "assume" one could "just" remove the fuel tank to have ease of working with replacement, getting all the bends done correctly to the arm. I also suspect that while the existing sender may not leak, it probably has a broken electrical connection that will result in full scale deflection of fuel gauge.
