Thanks guys. I ordered new senders. I decided it's not worth wondering. On Wed, Jun 17, 2020 at 6:31 AM bill.peyton wrote: > > I attached a photo of the sender unit. That was in 2014. Both senders have been leak free since then. It=99s more serviceable this way if something goes wrong with the sender. > > https://www.mcmaster.com/sealing-screws/sealing-rounded-head-screws/system -of-measurement~inch/o-ring-material~fluoroelastomer-rubber/thread-type~un f/ > > Lenny > >> On Jun 19, 2020, at 9:19 AM, Doc > wrote: >> > >> >> Guys: It is no problem to remove the fuel tang sender with the wing attached. I would recommend replacing the rubber gasket with a cork or similar gasket when replacing the sender as the original rubber gaskets squash out with time and leak. Use a pager punch to make the screw holes in the new gasket. Do not seal with silicone as it is not gas proof. Use the gray colored 2-part tank sealer recommended by Vans if you want extra sealer. Garmin added the ability to schedule fuel tank reminder based on fuel quantity used rather then just time. I found my reminder to switch tanks was turned off as a result of the software load. Need to check prior to departure. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message rv10-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/RV10-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/rv10-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/rv10-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
