Remember when you adjusted the aileron linkages, you had to lock the elevator in neutral? If you try to tie the stick full aft with a rope or seatbelt, the ailerons will want to rise up a bit, exerting a lot of force on the linkages if they are rigidly clamped to the flaps. -------- Bob Turner RV-10 QB Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=496997#496997 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 04:16:46 PM PST US From: Subject: RV10-List: Rivets in backwards on elevator hinge brackets I accidentally riveted the elevator hinge brackets on my RV-10 horizontal stabilizer rear spar with the manufactured head on the inside of the spar rather than on the hinge bracket side. The instructions clearly state to put the mfg head on the bracket side (I know, I know, read the directions before riveting, not after!) It was easier for my squeezer to work it that way, and I chose the easy way. So my question is does it really matter which way the rivet is installed? I would think it's not an elevator swing clearance issue or a strength issue. So what am I missing?
