Subject: | Brake pad back plate bolts |
I don't have immediate access to my plans and wonder if anyone out there can tell
me the size of the two bolts that bolt the brake pad back plate to the brake
unit?

I did find that, but that's the AN elbow fitting. I am pretty sure the bolt is
an AN4 but don't know the length. I'll be able to find it when I go to the hangar,
hopefully tomorrow.
Thanks.

If not I can probably get a picture from the manual tomorrow.

Assuming they are Cleveland 30-59E brakes, it=99s an AN4-17A with blue
loctite applied per ACS. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/lgpages/cl

The stock brake pad has self-locking threads built in and uses standard
AN4-17A. You can use the blue loctite if it gives you more comfort. I
had Clevelands on a Cessna that had same arrangement for over 20 years,
never had a bolt back out, then had a Mooney that required safety wire
on those bolts, couldn't see that it made much difference, just took
more time to add the safety wire.
