Instead of our normal Mains 15-600-6 tyres which arent as readily available as
...... 600-6, have many/any fitted the 600-6 tyres on their RV10.? From a previous
VAF topic, the height of 15-600-6 is listed as fourteen and three quarter
inches and the 600-6 are seventeen and three quarter inches, so the aircraft
would sit one and half inches higher on the 600s. If the nose wheel was left
standard size, prop clearance would be slightly reduced. Also the wheel fairings
would have to be adjusted to suit if the tyre size was changed. 600-6 tyres
and tubes are much more common and so a better cost as well. Comments appreciated.
