--> RV3-List message posted by: LessDragProd@aol.com Hi Rob, In setting up your new engine, a hydraulic CS propeller is preferred to the electric CS propeller. Do you do much aerobatics? If you plan to do aerobatics, the hydraulic CS propeller should be considered a "must have" option. Are you going to install an inverted oil system for negative G aerobatics? (Would also need a flop tube in the fuel tank.) Jim Ayers In a message dated 04/22/2004 9:31:39 AM Pacific Daylight Time, smokyray@yahoo.com writes: Jim, Unfortunately I re-committed the funds I set aside for the prop after your first attempt to get enough volunteers. I bought a kit 0-320 to rebuild to replace my very old 0-320. I couldn't realiistically come up with the full amount now on short notice. I apologize if it causes any difficulties completing the mission. I am forwarding the message to another RV friend who showed MT interest. Respectfully, Rob Ray

But thanks for the info for others on the RV-3 list. --> RV3-List message posted by: LessDragProd@aol.com Hi Chuck, I mistakenly sent Rob's message to the RV3 list. My mistake. I had to ask, since I didn't know. I met an RV-3 pilot who had only flown a Citabria, before he bought a RV-3. He "knew" that the wing wanted to be on the top, with the fuselage below. In his RV-3, he only banked to about 15 degrees, so the fuselage wouldn't "fall" to beneath the wing. To give him credit, though, he started flight lessons in the Citabria when he was 65. (On the other hand, Floridian's seem to like to fly like they are in Australia.) :-) Jim Ayers If I flew in Florida the way they normally like to fly, I would have an inverted inverted engine. :-) In a message dated 04/23/2004 9:29:31 AM Pacific Daylight Time, crabaut@coalinga.com writes: --> RV3-List message posted by: "C. --> RV3-List message posted by: "C. Rabaut" <crabaut@coalinga.com> Yep, I got relatives in Florida. BTW, we Californians refer to them as "Floridiots" (no offense intended, and I can't say what they call us in a public forum). I'm pretty sure it was you that brought your RV-3 over to Coalinga to see one of my RV-4's (in pieces) awhile back. Is that great RV-3 of yours still flying? do not archive ----- Original Message ----- From: <LessDragProd@aol.com> Subject: Re: RV3-List: MT Propeller offer for RV-3 > --> RV3-List message posted by: LessDragProd@aol.com > > Hi Chuck, > > I mistakenly sent Rob's message to the RV3 list. Subject: Lycoming O-290 D2B accessory case question
--> RV3-List message posted by: "Bill Repucci" <bill@repucci.com> I purchased the above mentioned engine for my RV-9. It appears to be in great shape and has low time, I'll find out more when I start disassembling it. The only gottcha is that it doesn't have a fuel pump, which prompted the following questions: 1) What O-290 accessory cases accept the fuel pump and where should I look for such a thing? 2) Can I substitute an accessory case from an O-235 or O-320? If so, which ones? 3) Are any of you flying with an Aero Carb from Sonex (http://www.aeroconversions.com/carb_index.html)? If so, could you give me some feedback? If all else fails, I'm thinking I could install two electric fuel pumps, with check valves, one pump fused directly to the battery, etc. but I would prefer to have an engine driven pump. Thanks for the help! Bill R. Huntersville, NC RV-9 SN: 90737 N941WR (Reserved) One wing down, one to go.

--> RV3-List message posted by: rob ray <smokyray@yahoo.com> Hi Jim and Chuck, Thanks for all your support on getting me a "proper prop" for The Bandit. Trust me, I would love to have a Hyd MT prop, I just don't have the "cash in hand" for the full Monty right now, no excuses. Yep, I do alot of aerobatics and the Hydraulic model would be SH in my book. Us Lower Alabamians (LA) do get inverted once in awhile... Rob Ray (part-time F16 pilot) "C.
