--> RV3-List message posted by: RV8PILOTPAUL@aol.com Is it me or are the hole heights of VS-310 and VS-309 reversed? Hole height of VS-310 is shown as 1 1/4 and for VS-309 as 1 3/8. Since VS-309 sits on the 1/8 inch spar doubler, it seems like its hole height should be less than the VS-310

--> RV3-List message posted by: Leesafur@aol.com In a message dated 10/4/2004 12:28:43 PM Central Standard Time, RV8PILOTPAUL@aol.com writes: Is it me or are the hole heights of VS-310 and VS-309 reversed? The manual says "The dimensions given on DWG 16 for the fore and aft spacing between the hingline and the rear spar have been extensively checked. The hinges differ because the VS-309 is measured from the VS-307 reinforcement plate, while VS-310 is measured from the VS-303 spar web." With that said, sounds like the blueprint is wrong. I put my rudder and stabilizer together to take a look see and It looks fine like that. If you end up calling Vans about this let us know what they say. I'll also post this to the yahoo group to see what the boys over there have to say. Lee Anoka, MN RV-3 Wing
