I am going to make my inlet removeable so that I can change the air filter
and get to the underside of the engine without having to take off the entire
canopy. Just me tho.

I have an early RV-4 kit with a one piece F-410. R3 of Sheet #26
revised this with a change to a F-410 and F-410A. The new F-410A is
moved about 2 inches forward of F-410. Was this done for structural
reasons or to make installation of the Horz Stab easier? To those that
built with the old method - was the old method difficult to attach and
level the stab?
Thanks,
Ken

I too had the old one piece bulkhead on our first RV-4 (1983). It was hard to
attach the stab. and then very hard to do the modification which came along
later.
On our present RV-4 (#1191) the bulkhead was also one piece. I cut it and
built a new top section to match the updated plans. That made it lots easier
to attach the stab. and get the bolts in place.
I think you would be happier to do it that way.

For those who are looking to save yourselves from having to deal with
the spaghetti at the back of your instrument panel, I strongly recommend
Mark Krueger of Advantage Avionics. Mark has a wealth of experience and
knowledge and stands behind his work. He is a great guy and he doesn't
know that I'm sending this out.
He bundles and wax ties wires so that it is as clean in the back as it
is in the front. You get schematic drawings for your panel in the event
that anything in the future requires repair. Truly the answer to your
avionic needs.
