The Skyhaven Pilots Association will be having their fall fly-in/drive-in
breakfast on Sunday, September 21st, from 8am - 2pm. We have had a few
washouts in a row and are really reaching out for some attendance at this
breakfast to help build the bank account.
We have about 20 crafters, skydivers from Endless Mountain Skydiving, static
and flying displays of vintage (a.k.a. "plain old") aircraft, and airplane
rides in a 1943 Stinson V77 Gull Wing Big Red available for anyone
interested.
We usually get a model club flying and displaying their models, a local
string band sometimes stops in for a few hours of public practice and a
local antique engine collector sets up a display of old hit-and-miss and
novelty engines.
Anyone who has ever flown to Skyhaven in Tunkhannock PA can tell you this is
a unique airport to visit. There is a 2000' paved runway located within a
1/2 mile of the center of town. When landing to the south on runway 19
adjust your 1500 MSL left pattern to a little closer to the runway avoid
the mountain and hang glider launch which is in the pattern at 1650 MSL.
Turn base to final at the traffic light in town and watch for the trees on
short final.
If you cant make it because the wife needs to get some shopping done dont
worry, Wal-Mart is right across the street along with Burger King (incase
you are still hungry after the breakfast). The grocery store is along the
taxiway to runway 19.
We are about 2 months from having 100LL fuel on the field so please fly-in
with what you need unless you want auto gas. We share a street entrance
with Texaco (almost enough room to taxi to the pump if there werent all
those cars in the way!).
Breakfast is $5 adult/ $2 child and includes all you can eat pancakes, eggs,
sausage, ham, coffee, milk and OJ. Our pancakes are the best Ive had and
the sausage patties are excellent.
Hope to see a whole flock. or is it gaggle of RVs in the field,
Pat Perry

Glen:
I had a Catto 2-blade on my RV3. It was underpitched and I traded up to a
3-blade. It was hung on the RV3 last week, but we haven't flown yet.
A friend of mine with a Glassair and a 200hp Lyc traded out his Hatzell CS
for a 3-blade Catto. He loves it!! Very smooth and 210mph top speed with
good climb.
Check back in two weeks and I'll let you know how my RV3 does with the
3-blade.
