I wouldn't burn it.
Stamp "UNAIRWORTHY" in deep letters in the sides of the hub and sell it on
eBay for $300. That is about how much a "decorative" wood prop goes for. The
proceeds will make a nice down-payment on a new wood prop.
Good luck,
Linc

I have a prop with a stress crack from one of the bolt holes to the bore in
the outside laminate.
I boxed it up and put in the attic. If I ever damage a prop away from home
my wife can mail it to me.

Thanks to all who responded to my crack or split end grain in the prop hub
bore. General consensus is that I use it for wall decoration. :( It was a
new Pacesetter that just cracked over time from moisture coming and going from
the only unfinished and unsealed area. It's about 15 years old and has never
been in the air. Next question: With a 160 HP, O-320, what is the favored
wood prop? I'm not leaning towards cruise or climb, just a standard prop.
