With my RV 4 kit I got the aluminum wing fairing with the rolled edge as well
as a fiberglass leading edge fairing. I'm not real happy with the way they
fit. I'm considering using just a flat strip to wrap around this area and use
"U" shaped rubber edge trim against the fuselage. What do others prefer for
looks and function? I've heard that the fiberglass just makes a little more
frontal area and therefore more air resistance.

My first RV-4 had the flat metal fairing with "Y" Channel. I used the
glas/metal on the second one but I like the all metal much better.

Thanks Bob. Have got a lot of help from your answers. Where did you get the
all metal fairing? Just order a strip and make your own? What thickness did you
use? Does Van's offer this option?
Thanks again for your help..
