--> RV4-List message posted by: "Glenn P. Wilkinson" <gpw@accucomm.net> Hey Guys: I was out flying my recently build RV last night and noticed a bad glare created by my panel lights on the forward section on the canopy. I use post lights and turned them down to low level which helped slightly; has anyone else found this to be a problem with the -4's or do you think it is a characteristic of the post lights and the shape of the canopy? Is anyone using a panel lighting system who does not have this problem ? Suggestions ? Glenn RV-4 N654RV @ OKZ

--> RV4-List message posted by: rob ray <smokyray@yahoo.com> Glenn; It's not just a problem with the RV4, any bubble canopy aircraft, F16 included have this problem. General Dynamics(now Lockheed) tried several lighting mods and finally the NVG lighting semi-solved the problem on the F16 by going to a low glare cockpit lighting. I checked and my RV4 has over 300 hours on it after dark(commuting home from work). I fixed the glare on mine by making a stick on glareshield. It's a piece of thin plastic that sticks out from under the canopy frame 3" over the inst panel held by velcro. Works great. RR "Glenn P.
