Intermittent connectivity is still a issue although things are better than yesterday. They will probably be doing some intrusive testing on the line later today which will disrupt connections during the test. More information as it becomes available! Thanks for your patience. Hopefully will be sometime this spring. Looking at one made by Ed Sterba. I'm using a Lycoming 0-320, 160 hp. My prop extension, it is 6" diameter and used 3/8" prop bolts and the crush plate is 6" diameter and 3/8" thick. I see Van's doesn't use the 6" diameter prop extension any longer in favor of the 7" diameter. Would anyone recommend changing my hardware at this point to accommodate the newer 7" prop extension diameter and 7/16" bolts rather than the one that came with older kit? Not sure why Van's changed but there must be some issue. Your thoughts would be appreciated. I''m thinking of a 68" X 76" or 78" prop per Ed's recommendations for this RV and engine combination. Not sure which would be best. I don't think I want a cruise or climb prop, just something in-between. Any suggestions? Check with Van's before you buy any of the parts. I ordered the finish kit for my older RV-4 kit and I had already bought the prop and extension, etc. It cost me a bundle to get new extension, bolts, crush plate, etc. I was able to drill the prop for the required 7/16" prop bolts. Apparently they furnish the new cowl for either fixed or C/S prop. Again;call Van's before you invest, Bob Olds A&P , EAA Tech. What's the world coming to....Bob, if you still have the long extension, I'm sure you could sell it on www.vansairforce.net classifieds.... Merry Christmas Y'All! I ended up drilling both of them to 7/16 after the 3/8 bolts required tightening more than I liked. I keep 2 props bolted on extensions with spinners so I can change props in 30 minutes if I need to. The 7/16 bolts stay torqued longer, even with weather changes. The larger diameter ext seems to have no great advantage or difference over the other, your call. Good Luck. Merry Christmas!
