Hi Pat,
I too put the crotch strap on the forward side of the spar, and even had the
foresight to have my seat upholstered with a center slot for it. After flying
with it for awhile especially in rough air or doing acro you will feel naked if
you forget to hook it up....
I could take a look at your bird too,. but I ain't flying to michigan until it
warms up above 90F....
Might be awhile......ha!

Subject: RV4-List: Crotch strap attach point- front seat

Finally got my RV 4 painted and out to the airport. Almost have the wings on.
Trying to determine whether the triangle shaped bracket that I made for the
5th point seatbelt crotch strap attaches to the front or back side of the wing
spar. The seatbelt bracket could go on either side. Its just that the bolts
are somewhat difficult to get in and out so want to get it right the first
time. Any one else used the center two spar bolts for the attach point for the
crotch strap? Don't have the interior installed yet so its hard to determine at
this point. Any advice?

Hi Pat -
I have the center attach point on the forward side of the spar, seems to work
well for me.
I live in Canton, MI and fly out of YIP (Willow Run). You are welcome to
come see it, or I could fly up one day, Bay City is not very far!

Pat,
I used the "forward" side of the spar (I'm sure you made it thin enough
to fit, but thick enough to work).
