Wally,
Hmmmm, I've never had a problem removing mine, Narrow Deck conical mount 0-320.
What model 0-320 do you have. Wide deck? Dynafocal mount? Do you have a drain
line set up on the side? I actually modified one of my footwells to allow a
drain fitting to be on my pump. Sounds like yours is close there too...this may
be a case where "get a bigger hammer" may apply...

Have any of you RV-4 owners ever had to change your engine driven fuel pump?
Much to my dismay, I had planned to install the fuel pump on my 0-320 today
and it looks like we are going to have to partially remove the engine to do
it! We can get the pump in with out the bolts with no problem but when they
are placed in the fuel pump, which you have to do, before installation, it
will no longer clear the foot well on the firewall.

Rob,
The fuel pump should come out enough so you can turn it a little to remove it from
the motor if for some resion iit wont? you can dent the foot well at the
top a little, or just losen the motor mount bolts to where you can spring it just
a little to gain the clearnce you need to remove the pump!
