Is there any finished RV-4's around central Illinois? Would like to set in one and maybe go for a ride. Looks like a great airplane.. We have a finished RV-4 in Western Arkansas but it is kinda far from Illinois. It wouldn't be real far to fly but I am out of medical and not flying at the present time. The Rv-4 is the most fun plane I have flown in more than 8,000 hours of ASEL, including gliders. We have built two of them with 150 HP and wood prop. It makes a light and agile short field plane with very good cruise speed too. We have an 1100' grass strip on our farm and it is plenty of room for the RV-4. There just isn't anything comparable to it. Since flying more than 750 hrs. in the RV-4 ; everything else seems like a dog. Bob Olds RV-4 , N1191X A&P , EAA Tech.
