I didn't build my -4, so I don't know if my canopy is custom or not.
Mine has a lever and pin mechanism attached to the latch rod behind the
mid-canopy brace/bulkhead. The pin fits into two different holes in the
rollbar; one position is canopy cracked open about 6" on left side (
enough to let your arm out for turn-signals) and one is nearly full
open. Uses the latch lever to insert/retract the pin. I thought it was
Vans equipment. If you would like to see some pictures, email off-list,
and I'll take some pics today. I'll also look thru the builders log and
drawings, see if there's a blueprint or something
