Hasn't let me down in 10 years. This allowed me to run the early stock cowl and scoop with a carb. My cowl was from pre-FAB days when the plans called for a setup similar to mine. In 95' the FAB came out and they enlarged the scoop to handle it, although the carb intake location isn't the same on all 320 sumps and the FAB won't work on every engine without some serious cutting. Van's sells the larger scoop you can attach to the cowl, I bought one and it is still sitting in my attic, never used. Which injector throttle body are you going with? I too like the looks of the 320 cowl and scoop and haven't changed it one bit... The logistics/cost of returning the wrong cowl from the UK would be a nightmare! I am certainly going with some form of -320, so its not a width issue, though I presume VANS 320/360 cowls for a -4 are the same width? Its just that they say if you decide on an injected 320 you need a 360 LOWER cowl in order to get the injector body in as well as the 360 FAB which you have to use because it is shallower (I think). As Randy L said the scoop is larger and I have to say I am quite concerned about the look of the thing. I guess I just need to find some 360 -4 to look at.....a bit scarcer here than there. Thanks, Steve. Much as I would like a holy cowl there are two things against it. a) I have been unable to get any definition of how it would work out with an MT prop, and b) again the shipping costs make it fearsomly expensive. At least the VANS cowls are consolidated with the rest of the finisk kit and FWF bits. ----- Original Message ----- From: "rob ray" Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 7:34 PM Subject: RV4-List: Re: RV4-List Digest: 1 Msgs - 01/22/06 > --> RV4-List message posted by: rob ray > > Before you plunk down the cash for a new cowl, take some measurements and > see how it will fit.
