This VFR flatlander has flown from MS to Greensboro several times. If
it's clear, flying over is beautiful. Just remember that there's a
reason they call 'em 'Smoky'. It's stressful for me if there isn't much
margin between peaks & clouds. I've gone around a couple of times.
IIRC, the southern end of the pointy stuff isn't very far south of the
Charlotte class B. Probably wouldn't be a huge deviation, if needed.
