Just remember that there's a reason they call 'em 'Smoky'. It's stressful for me if there isn't much margin between peaks & clouds. I've gone around a couple of times. IIRC, the southern end of the pointy stuff isn't very far south of the Charlotte class B. Probably wouldn't be a huge deviation, if needed.
