      I replaced my original Van's canopy (it cracked one cold morning pulling  
      out of a loop. Scared the poop out of me as I thought the wing spar broke 
      from  the "pop" it made) with a Todd's canopy. Slightly thicker and about 1.5"
      
      taller.  Strangely, it had an imperceptible difference in the curvature 
      because I found I  was now not getting a reflection off my instruments during 
      night flying. Anyway,  I used only lightly torqued screws with nylock nuts. If
      
      I had to do the entire  canopy system over I would use only those new 
      adhesives and no "drilled"  fasteners at all.
