Neal,
I experienced this with my RV8 8 plus years ago when I flew off the initia
l
flight testing. I tried several things that did not work. I then went to
the local hardware store and purchased some 2
compression springs approx. 2 inches long wound from approx. 100 thousand
s
wire and approximately 3/4 inch diameter. I made band type loop hangers to
connect springs to the exhaust pipe and the engine mount legs. The springs
absorb the shock from landings etc. ( I fly from a grass field (bummpy). I
now have 9 years and 1900 hours on this set up. Good Luck.
