I'm looking for a good source for one of the new O-360 lycoming work-a-likes
(I'd also like to hear from you folks who've been flying the new Superior
engines, I've heard good things about them). I have talked with Bart Lalond
at Aerosport power (Kamloops B.C. Canada) and was VERY impressed. That was
when I lived in Oregon and I now live in Florida so I'm wondering if a shop
with Aerosport's reputation can be found in the lower 48. Anyone have
suggestions? Thanks.
I posted this to the engines list yesterday and only got a couple responses
(two "YA BABY" votes for Bart). Does that mean everyone knows and uses
engines from Aerosport power. Is there is NO shop in the U.S. than can match
his prices or customer service? WOW! RV builders, is this true? Are you
all using Bart's engines (or new Lycs from Van's)? It wouldn't surprise me
too much. Speak to me!! Thanks.

I was one of the "Bart fans" that responded. Forgot to mention that I have a
friend who got his "Superior" engine from Mattituck.
It is not flying yet but he is happy with it and them so far. NY is a little
closer to FL than is BC, so maybe this will help.
I am sure there are those out there who *CAN* do just as good as (or even
better than) Bart. Few have the reputation of doing so at the price at which
he has done it for many years now. On the other hand, he has set the bar and
any who enter the ring must meet/exceed his efforts if they are to make a
lot of progress in the RV world. Of course, a new Lyc from Van's is a horse
of a different garage. :-)
James
.... also had a NEW Lyc from Van's.
