Has anyone replaced the standard vertical tail on the RV-6 or 6A with the RV-7 design? I flew a RV-7A and was amazed at the difference I believe the vert. tail makes. Anybody ?????? Thanks and Merry Christmas, Larry, RV-6A N939LT "LIMA TANGO SENDS"

--> RV6-List message posted by: <kbob@cox.net> Larry, I have not done this, but have spoken to Van's while building my -6A. The main issue is weight & balance. This tail puts a lot more weight aft of the CG. A wood prop 6 with 320 would be tough to balance. While flying with Mike Seager (factory trainer) he said the 6 rudder & VS is the best one and you would not need the 7 rudder. I took his word for it since he has about 3000 hours in all types of RV's. I'm sure you can tell the difference on either 7 rudder (small or large) versus the standard 6 rudder. What exactly was your impression? Is this where the larger rudder makes the difference? On Dec 15, 2005, at 11:29 AM, Larry Rush wrote: > Has anyone replaced the standard vertical tail on the RV-6 or 6A with > the RV-7 design?
