    Subject: Mounting Lasar Unit
Ralph, I mounted my Lasar computer unit high on the engine side of my firewall on the passenger side of airplane and did not use any backing plate. I used nutplates to facilitate later removal if necessary. No problems with that mounting. As a heads up, I found my CHTs run hot on takeoff and Lycoming claims that is an issue with their Lasar system. I pull the power a bit just after lift-off and that helps. Lasar, however gives me great fuel economy - 6.2 gph at 65% power. Pete in Clearwater RV-6, Reserve Grand Champion, Sun 'n Fun, 2006
