I believe (from memory) there are two pins on the plug and one output terminal,
so which one is the sense wire? One pin is the field, one is the fault light,
and....? It has been a while since I wired mine. May have "faulty" memory.....<:

It worked for me. I had the same symptom and found I didn't have the sense wire
installed.
14.9 went to 14.2 volts.

Hi,
My Nippondenso altrnator was charging at 14.9 max. I was unable to get
info from Duralast ( the rebuilder), Toyata dealers, Matronics RV site,
and some A&Ps re: the proper wiring. I had a wire to the field post but
none to the sense post. With the help of my son, and a NAPA dealer, the
sense wire now goes to the output post and Voila! max charge is 14.2.
I thought this might help someone else.
