Capen" Subject: Re: RV6-List: question You can make your own - with West Epoxy resin and Flox. Tape the front and back of the 'carrier' after coating the innards with mold release wax. Fill the 'carrier' with a not-so-thick mixture of resin and flox. Coat the slider 'poke' pins with mold release wax. After the flox mixture starts to set a little, close the canopy, the pins will poke through the tape and form a perfect pocket - maintaining the proper alignment. One of my canard buddies came up with this as a solution to my concerns about mis-drilling the blocks. I haven't actually done this myself - but with the other experiences that I have had with flox blocks - this should do quite nicely. -----Original Message----- >From: robert murillo >Sent: Dec 16, 2008 10:01 PM >To: rv6-list@matronics.com >Subject: RV6-List: question > > >HI: > >I have an RV6, with slider canopy, and need to replace the block that holds the >canopy secured, at the rear sides. > >Sory I cannot remember the technical name for this material, is the white hard, >plastic like.... > >I know I can ordered it from Van's, but I tought I could find it some where else >the shipping would be more than the piece.... > >Thanks for any information > >Maurice >_________________________________________________________________ >Suspicious message? I have a 10 year old RV-6A that has lost part of its right wing-walk anti-slip covering. Should I glue on a replacement mat like the original or is there a better way to do this, like an anti-slip paint? Thanks. ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 11:56:04 AM PST US From: robert murillo Subject: RE: RV6-List: question Thanks James: You would not know where one can buy some ? I worked for 6-7 years as a rep for one. They usually carry it in a green and a white color. The white is food grade, but that is what most people buy because they think it looks better. Usually the same price. They will usually cut it to size for you. I used to sell 1/2" thick sheets in 4ft. X 10ft pieces up to 1-1/2 " thick and down to 1/16". Also comes as a rod as well. Most stores will GIVE you small pieces of it if you ask.
