He is doing the wings, while I have the fuselage and empennage at my place. Empennage is complete less the fiberglass work, while the fuse is at the skeleton stage. The wings are probably 50% complete--the tanks still to be done. So far I guess we are pretty typical ... I've built 3 tube and fabric experimentals and found them very easy ... the RV is a different type of building and the blueprints and manual are cryptic to say the least. We have printed out and consult the Justice notes frequently, plus I have watched the Orndorf videos countless times. We alternate frustration and satisfaction ... from what I hear that is normal. I've had to reorder two parts so far, fortunately they were cheap ones. Now that we are in the thick of building, I'm sure we will have questions for the list. BTW, I am building the fuse in Lexington, SC and the wings are in Lancaster, SC (about an hour distant). One of these days we'll be test fitting the wings to fuse ... should be exciting. We have designed a small control module called SmartStart. It simplifies the installation and operation of push button or control stick starting of the aircraft engine starter. SmartStart provides an arming switch input and an interlock input and 1 minute timer during which a momentary switch may activate the engine starter. The arming switch may be hidden to improve theft resistance of the aircraft, the 1 minute timer helps prevent inadvertent starter activation. The interlock switch may be coupled to a door or canopy switch. SmartStart directly drives standard starter contactors and is all electronic. All the details are on our web site: www.tcwtech.com Best regards, Bob Newman TCW Technologies, LLC. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message rv6-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/RV6-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/rv6-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/rv6-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
