I am finishing the fairings=2C for the wheel pants etc...question=2C what
options I have to hold the
fairings=2C is any way=2C without using plate nuts?
The attachment of fairing to wheel pants=2C is only with nut plates ?
how about the top fairings the fuselage/leg =2C I do not want to make hol
es on the fuselage=2C to hold these.
I cannot remember who posted pictures of installation and retention of the
fairings=2C=2C
If some one has these I would appreciate information and suggestions

fairings, is any way, without using plate nuts
I used high quality sheet metal screws placed about every 3" with a dab of
RTV on the tip. Start out with #4x1/2" if the hole starts to open up and
the screw losens move up to the next size. I have 150 hrs. on my original
screw set without having to replace any of the originals. I wouldn't trust any
method of fairing attachment than nut plates and/or sheet metal screws.

thanks for the info. You said you would not trust, any attachment with nut
plates...
-
why?- I assure you that nut plates is the best for anything...
The only thing is the work involved on Fiberglass, you would have to reinfo
rce the area
etc... that is why I wanted to know a different way..

I said that I wouldn't trust any attachment WITHOUT NUT PLATES OR SCREWS
unless you want to bond them on to the skin or rivet them. That will make
them a little difficult to remove.
