I have 222 hours on the engine since new and have never flown with anything other than the E-Mags; so I have no basis for comparison with any other system. I have never had even the hint of a problem and have no complaints. They're also easy to time. I do a lot of x/c flying and find that, leaned to 50 degrees lean of peak, fuel burn at 2300 rpm is about 7.5 gph. Before first flight on my a/c back in Aug 09 there was a recall of the units due to a mechanical issue - I don't recall specifics but it had something to do with a faulty set screw arrangement. E-Mag modified/ fixed the units at no cost and I'm not aware of any issues with the modified units. I fly with aviation spark plugs and think I'd be a little nervous flying with auto plugs. Are automotive plugs able to tolerate the increased ignition temps of P Mags / E Mags?
