    Brett: You are 100% correct... If not secured and routed correctly it WILL get stepped on very easy. It is also VERY easy to route it correctly and have it pulled away and off the floor. I routed it UP and against the vertical panel on the front of the seat, used Adel Clamps with nut plates for easy removal. By keeping it high 4" to 6" - I really don't recall - it is out of the way when getting into & out of the plane. During flight - Non issue. Shielding is also a good method IN ADDITION to up and away.     Subject: RV-6A Fuel Line Routing (Tank to Fuel Tank Selector Valve)
    On mine (flying since 2008) I routed them through the holes in the gear leg attachments and as close to the spar as possible. In addition, I felt it w as fairly important to have a filter for each tank rather than one only for both. I did this so that if ever there was a problem with 1 fuel tank, I w ould be assured that if it is a filter problem that I can get good fuel fro m another source. I went to the jegs catalog and found two filters that ca n be disassembled and cleaned. I have found that no one comes close to touc hing either one during ingress and egress. If you're like me, you're really going to enjoy flying your little spaceship. Carry on!     Bob: GREAT IDEA! I did the same with two filters also. I mounted them on the side walls off the deck. I used large size, plastic - clear auto filters. That way I could see what is going on and I replaced them about every third Safety Inspection. I had an issue with something in the fuel tanks that blocked open the electric fuel pump. Cleaned the fuel pump, installed the filters and things have been A-O-K ever since. I did not stop there. I of course flushed and cleaned both fuel tanks.     The ones that I purchased are about 3 inches long and an inch in diameter a nd are aluminum in structure. They use the same #6 flare and ferrule that i s used everywhere else in the fuel system, and are reusable. In my installa tion you are unable to see them except by getting on your hands and knees a nd bending over to look in front of the spar. They are fairly easy to get t o and I examine them at annual. It works great for me!
