My worry is that, during the cleaning and wiping of the wings, some metal filings may have made their way into the paint job, as I see many tiny specks on the wing, concentrated in a few patches. Do you think whether the metal filings could possibly have planted themselves into the paint job of the wing and, if so, how to remove them? Thanks. In your drilling the quality of the drill bit and the speed of the drill play a very important part in the quantity of heat being produced. If there was sufficient heat the drill chips could have melted into the paint. I would try something very easy on the paint - Try wiping the area down with Mineral Spirits. It will not attach the paint and could wash away the chips.
