Just curious - in what way was it deforming? Not clear from the pictures. What
should we be looking for at the Condition Inspection?

I replaced a badly bent one some years back and they are getting pricey
new $600, and used $200. I straightened mine this time and had doublers TIG
welded on to triple their rigidity in the weak region. Original left, modified
right.

Deformation of the plate in the area of the caliper pin ferrules. This
causes the plate to twist and keep the pads engaged with the disk. The
plate must remain flat and the ferrules parallel to one another so the
caliper pins can move freely. You can see in the modified plate that I
have tripled the thickness of the plate in the critical area by welding
steel doublers.
