This part is shown on Drawing 13A. It says (Remove before flight) I can't figure
out what it is for. Does it have to be in place for rigging? The only mention
I've seen is on this drawing. Any help is appreciated.

Jim the correct page is 15A zone E2. The device is a jig for rigging the
ailerons and then removed. You should have received one with your kit.

This part is a temporary fixture to allow proper adjustment of the
aileron. You just clamp it into place and it puts the bellcrank in the
proper "center" position so you can adjust the pushrods. When you are
done with the first wing, you remove it and use it on the other wing.
Then take it out.
It is a good idea to keep it since you may want to adjust things more
than once. But when you are finished with your plane, in is no longer
necessary.
