I had no problem with alignment......AFTER I clecoed the tank (before ANY
riveting) to the main spar and drilled the Z-brackets using the main spar as
a drill guide.......which is a little different than Van's instructions but
makes a more exact fit. I screwed up the first set of Z-brackets by using
Van's instructions.

Has anyone checked to be sure their tank was square before riviting the back
baffle plate on? What I'm trying to say is "Has anyone had any alignment
problem with the tank to the spar after the back baffle was rivited on?"

I did the same thing screwing up the first set of Zs a couple of years ago.
I REMEMBER IT!!! I still use the old buggered up Z brackets for different
things now that I am on the finish and FWF kits. So, it was not a total
waste. But it can be frustrating at times. Sometimes the instructions are
so vividly clear and detailed and other times........... Part of the
experience and learning I guess. You will live through it. Endurance.
Even keel. Stick-to-it-tive-ness. do not archive.
