      I have posted this on the RV7 yahoo group also.  When you dimple the skin and rib
      of the wing the rivets fit perfectly.  Do you have to match drill??  I have
      heard through the grapevine that it is not necessary.  Any thoughts.

      Doug,
      By dimpling undersized holes you are enlarging by violence rather than
      gentleness. By match drilling to final size then dimpling you will treat the
      metal more gently and minimise the incidence of stress risers around holes,
      which will be the point of origin for cracks to generate in later life. 
      
      Having inspected a couple of elderly RVs here I have match drilled all the
      15,500 rivet holes in my creation. 
      
      Its your call.
